i always felt like he always tried to fit faberry in and just decent santana and quinn writing (he writes quinn the best, for sure) and i know he loves klaine/finn but he was still probably the most well-rounded writer

I honestly would rather watch cute Brittana stolen moments in the background than serious things like a coming out story handled like that. Glee used to make me smile because of its silliness, not pissed off because it can’t deal with serious stuff.
Ryan was also responsible for Rumours, which was arguably the best Brittana episode we’ve gotten to date. He was even handed, absolutely, until the Klaine thing happened, and I think that was entirely fanservice. They had to make money somehow, and people latched onto the Warblers so it was easy to push a few things aside to make room for a while.
Brittana was subtle in the first two seasons. Now we’re being clubbed over the head with Santana’s inability to do anything right by traditional society’s male-dominated standards. The new writers are trying to get a read on Santana’s character without the added benefit of having written her for two years. I bet RIB have more Santana head canon than anyone in fandom, and I bet this is probably not the route he would have gone, had his focus been on Glee instead of AHS.
I’d do just about anything to go back to background Brittana. Secret girlfriends, loving looks, touches. I’d kill for another Faberry duet and for Quinn to calm her crazy and Rachel to remember that her dreams are just as important as everyone else’s and she doesn’t have to stop what she’s doing because her boyfriend or best friend are in competition with her.
I can’t deal with this. I need a break.
